Price Update (12/21/12)

Holiday Cube is in full swing, and along with it, Urza Block drafts. As expected, Urza Block, and Masques Block cards are falling in price.
Brainstorm is the lone card to buck this trend, increasing by almost 20% this week. Curfew has already reached rock bottom. Hopefully the trend will continue and we'll see some nice price drops. I'm hoping to pick up a play-set of Invigorate on the cheap.
12/2 12/9 12/14 12/21
USG Curfew 0.23 0.18 0.27 0.15
USG Raze 0.33 0.38 0.51 0.51
ULG Cloud of Faeries 4.46 3.8 5.41 4.18
ULG Crop Rotation 0.33 0.33 0.33 0.33
ULG Snap 1.98 2.54 2.62 2.54
ULG Unearth 1.9 2.11 2.11 1.49
UDS Yavimaya Elder 0.29 0.24 0.24 0.19

I've been following Benevolent Unicorn's rise over a couple of weeks now. Well, it rose again, making it into the top ten for the first time. Why is this card rising so high? Well, it's a key sideboard card in an otherwise inexpensive deck, White Weenie.

Here are the top cards for the week:

# Exp Name Price
1 TMP Lotus Petal 8.08
2 NMS Daze 7.37
3 MMQ Invigorate 7.34
4 TSB Serrated arrows 6.08
5 MMQ Ancestral Mask 4.24
6 ULG Cloud of Faeries 4.18
7 INV Prohibit 3.96
8 NMS Flame Rift 3.58
9 NMS Accumulated Knowledge 3.28
10 MIR Benevolent Unicorn 3.2
11 INV Sulfur Vent 3.1
12 MMQ Sandstone Needle 2.6
13 ULG Snap 2.54

Happy Cubing!

  1. I managed to fetch 4x Cloud of Faeries for 8 tix and 4x Snap for 4 tix so it turned out ok. The very next day, MTGO Traders decided to set the buy price on Clouds at THREE tix EACH! So I could basically flip them right over for 4 tix profit! However, I decided to keep them for my collection just in case I ever decide to play Delver. ;D

  2. Wow. That's great! I missed the low point due to holiday travel. When I checked back on Thursday, the price had already spiked. Unfortunate timing for me!

  3. It's debatable if it even was a low point. I managed to convince some players to sell them to me at this price but I never saw CoF drop below 2.2 on MTGO Traders. :/

  4. ah, good call. nice work with the haggling. I always sell to players, but forget to buy from them.
